After Valentine’s Day, many people find that the romantic feelings of the holiday still linger. And what’s better than watching a funny rom-com to keep those vibes going for the rest of the month?
There’s Something About Mary:
Chevy: Starting out strong, the first movie is a 1998 classic featuring Ben Stiller, this romantic comedy is about a man reconnecting with his dream girl from high school. After years of no contact, he hires a shady private investigator who ends up falling in love with the girl he’s been tasked to investigate. The movie has a lot of funny but raunchy moments, and there’s a lot of twists, especially towards the end. Overall, I’d rate this movie 7/10. It’s a very funny movie, but some parts are kind of just gross instead of funny.
500 Days of Summer:
Ninel: This movie follows the non-linear story of Tom and Summer. It captures the high and lows of their modern love from their excitement of new love to heartbreak over the span of 500 days. I love the soundtrack of this movie and the overall vibe of it. I rate this movie a 9/10.
13 Going on 30:
Ninel: 13 going on 30 is a comedic coming of age movie that follows 13 year old Jenna Rink’s story who after making a wish to be “30, flirty, and thriving,” and then wakes up the next day to discover herself as just that. She is immediately faced with the reality of adulthood and rekindles her friendship with her old best friend and now, love interest. What sets “13 Going on 30” apart is that it captures both relatable and enchanting aspects. It’s an iconic movie and resonates with audiences of all ages. Overall I’d rate this movie 8/10.
How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days:
Chevy: This movie is one of the best rom-coms made in my opinion, I really love it so much. I’ve rewatched it about 15 times and I never get bored of it. It has a lot of funny moments but also really heartfelt moments where you really root for both Benny and Andie. Some parts of the movie can get a little fast paced however so overall this movie is a 9/10. My favorite part is the iconic basketball game scene.
Ninel: How to lose a guy in 10 days has secured its place as one of the best rom-coms of all time because it is the perfect mix of heart and comedy. Andie and Benjamin are the love interests and Andie is assigned to write an article that contradicts Benjamin’s goal of proving that he can win any girl. As you can imagine this leads to an interesting plot. Overall I’d give this movie an 8/10.
We hope this small list will inspire you to continue watching some feel good, funny romance comedies.
