Sascha Michelle Cacho is in her junior year here at MHS. Since it is her first year writing stories for the newspaper she is quite excited about it. Having friends in her class and a teacher she likes makes it all the more enjoyable. Overall, Sascha enjoys English electives. Last year she took women and literature and really liked it. Next school year she plans on joining the yearbook as well to expand her horizons. She hopes to improve her writing and is excited to have somewhere to publish it so others can read it.
Sascha is already involved in many different activities at school. She is in the orchestra, mariachi, and Tri-M, and she is the president of the Ethnic Club. Sascha seems to be a very musically inclined person; she enjoys different genres of music too. Currently, her favorite artist is Faye Webster but she also enjoys listening to Frank Ocean, A Tribe Called Quest, and Tyler The Creator.
Outside of school, Sascha often goes thrifting, drives around, and hangs out with friends downtown. Exploring new things with friends is always fun. She also enjoys her job at a nursing home. There are times when she doesn’t want to go to work (like most people), but then she remembers her favorite residents. They make work worth going to.
Sascha thinks of herself as a caring and down-to-earth person. Though some might get the impression that she is mean, in reality, she is a very nice and funny person.
“I’m really not mean unless you’re going to kick my bunny,” she joked.
Being naturally funny is something that sets her aside from others. Sascha always knows what to say, especially when to crack a joke.
If you know Sascha, you probably know about her love for bananas and Marley. Marley, Sascha’s bunny, was a gift from her sister for her ninth birthday. As any other pet owner would say, Marley is like her baby. Whenever she feels the need to talk about something, she’ll tell her bunny. Marley accompanies Sascha whenever needed. If Sascha is having a snack, she will even give Marley a small bite.
Let’s return to her love for music. Sascha mentioned loving going on car rides with people. She enjoys traveling by car because she can play music and talk about anything. Good music and the right people make time fly faster.
“When I went to Lollapalooza with my sister we listened to the whole Channel Orange album, Ctrl (Deluxe), and the Flower Boy Album.”
Sascha loves listening to music and talking about anything and everything. She’s definitely a certified yapper. Her personality fits in well with the rest of the newspaper and we are excited to have her join us this year. Her energy and music taste is unmatchable. So, make sure you keep up with her and check out what stories she comes up with!
