Marissa Eads is a sophomore at MHS and a new staff writer for the MHS Auroran. Due to scheduling conflicts, she can’t actively be present in class but hopes to be able to write stories throughout the school year. You might know Marissa from one of the many things she is involved in such as band (marching band, jazz band, concert band, etc.), cross country, track, basketball managing, dance (outside of school), Boy Scouts, and newspaper.
“I’m very goal-oriented and always want to maintain good grades while staying active outside of school. I enjoy being busy and constantly doing something,” said Marissa.
Marissa prides herself on good grades and performing well in her activities.
“I balance school by prioritizing my homework and subjects. I also use a lot of my free time in class to get stuff done. Even though sometimes I can get overwhelmed, I communicate with my teachers and they most of the time understand,” said Marissa.
Marissa lives on the simpler side of life by focusing on school and activities.
“I don’t normally have a lot of free time because most of the time I’m doing something, but when I do I like hanging out with friends, watching sunsets, going camping, and just doing random activities,” said Marissa.
Many people agree that Marissa is a very outgoing, determined, and funny person who always puts her best foot forward.
“I often feel like a sloth because sometimes I can be slow to get somewhere or to achieve something, but I never stop because that would frustrate me,” said Marissa.
As a high schooler, it can be very difficult to balance everything and still feel as though you are doing your best all of the time. With her activities, Marissa has learned valuable lessons from each of them, whether it’s learning how to start a fire in Boy Scouts, how to have good leadership qualities in band, how to push yourself in track and field, or so many more. Marissa has become the person she is through these lessons and experiences throughout her busy schedule.
“My coach says I’m very honorary, have a good sense of humor, and am very intelligent,” said Marissa.
You can likely find Marissa around the school considering the numerous things she is involved in. If you happen to bump into her, you will find that she is kind and willing to talk to anyone to have a good laugh.
Marissa looks forward to a great year with the Newspaper and school in general and is proud to represent the MHS Auroran.
