With the release of two new episodes on July 16, 2025, The Summer I Turned Pretty was once again the show of the summer. After a year’s delay from the 2023 Writers Guild of America (WGA) and Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA) strikes, fans were dying to see Conrad and Jeremiah Fisher on their screens again. But of course, this raises the question: Team Jeremiah or Team Conrad?
For those not familiar with the show, it follows the main character, Isabel ‘Belly’ Conklin, who is in a love triangle with two brothers, Conrad and Jeremiah Fisher. It is based in a town called Cousins Beach, where the Conrad and Jeremiah’s family have a home, and where Belly and her family have gone to since she was little. Besides the two love interests, this season has brought a newfound dislike for the main character, Belly.

“I think she’s selfish and needs to make up her mind,” A student noted. “She is in denial that Conrad is the better option. I feel she is being selfish by stringing them both along.”
Although I don’t want to spoil much, the show has been very similar to the book with minor changes. However, the author of the books, Jenny Han, said that the ending of the show is a little bit different than the books, which is leaving fans very nervous. After the 8th episode of the show, pretty much everything that had happened in the books was also in the show, but the thing is, there were three episodes left.
After watching the 9th episode, fans were very upset with what they chose to include. Some even said that it could have been an email, a joke at how useless the episode was to the plot.
“If I were Belly, I would choose Conrad, but I feel like I should put myself first,” Senior Mia Huerta said, “Maybe give myself and Conrad time because obviously the death of Susannah impacted all of us, on top of other personal problems, but in the end, I would choose Conrad.”
Much like fans had hoped, the last two episodes of the show ramped up. However, they felt rushed. There was so much of the storyline that they tried to fit into the last two episodes, but at last, team Bonrad lovers finally got their win.
After watching the finale, fans of the show got a surprise. As an ode to Conrad and Belly’s letters, the author of the books and director of the show, Jenny Han, wrote a letter to fans, “Maybe we’ll meet you again one summer in Cousins.” Fans immediately took to social media to speculate on what this may mean, but they did not know they would get their answer right away.

Until they saw this image in their Instagram feed. Conrad and Belly are not off our TV screens yet. Jenny Han is making a movie! In an interview with The Today Show, she says that the movie will not come out for a while, considering they have not started filming yet. But fans are still speculating that the movie will come out this December and that it will be a Belly and Conrad celebrating Christmas at the beach house once again.
This show was a roller coaster. It all started back in summer 2022, which feels like a different life from where we are now. But nonetheless, TSITP kept drawing viewers back in. Whether you’re Team Conrad or Team Jeremiah, Cousins Beach has a special place in fans’ hearts.
