Whether it’s listening to music, being creative with her art, or being active with FFA, Addison Weggen, 11, uses her time to follow her passions.
“Whimsical is a perfect word to describe myself because I have so many different interests,” said Addie.
She shares that one of her favorite things is art. She spends a lot of time in her art room at her house. Which includes her paint table, canvases, and paint supplies. She also has boxes with other supplies like fabric, yarn, clay, and much more. But she shares that her favorite thing to do is paint.
“I love painting anything but my absolute favorite thing to paint is album covers and landscapes,” said Addie.
She loves painting album covers but one of her favorites is Taylor Swift’s Midnights, which also happens to be her favorite album. Addies shares her love of music which mainly includes Taylor Swift and Lana Del Ray. With the songs Diet Mountain Dew and Question..? being her favorite songs.
“I just love listening to music, there is always a song that fits my mood,” she said.
Even though Addie has a lot of interests and is involved in many things, she still makes sure she puts her full effort into all of them.
“With my parents having distinct hobbies I’ve tried finding myself in different activities, like FFA,” said Addie.
She has been a part of FFA since freshman year. Her roles include showing lambs and having public speaking jobs. She even competed in a public speaking competition, which is something she is very passionate about and loves doing. She is also working towards showing pigs in the summer.
“I feel like I am pretty different from others when it comes to public speaking. I prefer to be in front of a large audience compared to a one-on-one conversation,” she said.
Addie says she is a very confident person which also sets her apart from a lot of others her age. That is one reason why she likes public speaking so much because she can show her confidence and knowledge.
She works very hard in FFA and a lot of leadership roles. She says that if she sets her mind to something she is going to do it no matter what, and FFA is something that she works very hard at.
Addie says she has many role models who have shaped her into the person she is but her grandma is very important to her.
“She has always been a huge part of my life, and she is my number one supporter in everything I do,” said Addie.
Family is very important to Addie so having her grandma be so supportive means a lot to her.
Overall Addie is a very busy girl, with many interests and hobbies, but you will always find her working hard toward her goals and never giving up.
