Simple answer, yes, I do think October is the best month. It may not be the opinion that everyone has, but I can guarantee that a lot of people would agree with me considering October is ranked, according to a poll conducted in 2023, as the second favorite month of Americans. Personally, I don’t really have bad things to say about this month. I mean, seriously, you can’t go wrong with nice weather, the sweet aroma of pumpkin spice, and the beautiful leaves on the ground.
In Iowa, we tend to love that we see all the seasons. It’s great to experience a hot summer and snow around Christmas. But, when we are just getting out of humid air and random hot days in September, October feels like such a relief. We can finally cozy up with the windows cracked open as we watch our favorite fall and Halloween movies like Hocus Pocus and Practical Magic, or I guess you can watch some horror films if that is what you like.
Even when I am thoroughly enjoying summer, I still find myself dreaming about fall and how perfect everything can be. So, my solution to this is to start filling up my Pinterest with my favorite fall outfits and the overall amazing aesthetic. Getting myself excited for October by buying the new trendy fall shoes and finding more great sweaters is all part of the love I have for the month itself.
Another great thing about fall, and what a lot of people like most about it, are all of the activities you can do. It’s a great time to pick some apples, to carve pumpkins, to go to haunted houses, or even to go have a nice photo shoot with some friends to post on Instagram. No matter what you choose to do, or if you choose to do them all, these are a great way to enjoy time with family and friends and just one main reason that October is simply the best month there is.
I really do believe that October is the best month of the year, there is just so much to enjoy about it. But, even if you don’t agree with that I hope that everyone has made the most out of the fall activities and soaked it all in because once again it has come to an end way too fast.
