Such passion is hard to come by at such a young age, but despite what some may think, it is possible. Avery Bradley is a current freshman known for her outstanding talent in dance and pageants. She has held many titles over the years, currently being crowned Miss Iowa’s Teen 2024 and competing to be Miss America’s Teen in January.
“It was actually one of my dance coaches that suggested I try out a pageant and ever since then I have always loved them,” Avery said.
Starting dance at the age of three and beginning her journey with pageants at eight, her devotion to improving her skill is amazing. And although many may not think about it. Avery’s schedule is extremely busy, making her dedication that much harder to come by.
On the pageant side of things, she says, “A lot of my time is spent volunteering in the community. I try to participate in a lot of events and speak to people about what my title is. I also spend a lot of time prepping for any upcoming pageants.”
In addition to this, she is on the cross-country team at MHS and does competition dance for the River City All-Stars. She was even one of two girls to make it to state this year for her outstanding running performance. So, to help her get everything done, she tries her best to keep an organized schedule, keeping in mind what needs to get done now and putting it first on her list, such as her schoolwork.
As you can imagine, doing all of this as a teenager is no small task. It takes a lot of help to get where she is today. Because of this, she gives a ton of credit to her support system and definitely does not take them for granted.
“My family has been some of my biggest supporters because they are always at every event encouraging me. They always believe in everything that I do and I really appreciate that,” Avery said.
She has continued to gather support from her competitions and the community, making many new friends along the way.
“I really love all of the new people I get to meet, especially through pageants. I meet a lot of community members through my appearances, and a lot of girls from all across the country that are competing in the same pageant as me,” she said.
After so many years of hard work, Avery has already accomplished so much, but there are more goals to reach. She is hopeful that her time running for Miss America’s Teen will be successful, but more importantly, she can’t wait to experience something so exciting.
“I am really hoping to do well there because I have been dreaming of it for a long time.”
