Junior Sam Church has quietly become one of Muscatine’s most reliable two-way contributors. Last season (2024–25), he scored 223 points, averaging 10.1 points per game, and shot 51.3% from the field.
On the boards, Church grabbed 118 rebounds (5.4 rebounds per game) and showed he can make plays as well, dishing out 47 assists. At 6′4″, he is versatile, able to play both the small forward and power forward spots, which gives Muscatine important flexibility in its rotations.
With his efficient scoring, rebounding, and defensive presence, Church is expected to be a key piece for the Muskies as he steps into a more prominent role this upcoming season.
Sophomore Sadie Manjoine quickly became an important contributor for the Muscatine girls’ basketball team. In her first varsity season, she scored 134 points, shooting 36.6% from the field. She also went 31-for-52 from the free-throw line, finishing at 59.6%.
Manjoine’s impact goes well beyond scoring. She totaled 77 rebounds this season, 17 of which were offensive and 60 defensive, demonstrating her ability to compete on the boards despite her size. She also added 26 assists and 39 steals, proving to be an active defender and a reliable presence in the backcourt.
With her energy, defensive intensity, and growing confidence as a shooter, Sadie has already carved out a meaningful role as a freshman. She’s expected to become an even more dynamic playmaker for the Muskies in the years ahead.
Senior Seth Reiland has quietly become one of Muscatine’s most dependable wrestlers. Last season (2024–25), he posted a 32–20 record, competing primarily at 150 lbs, and showcased his ability to perform under pressure in both dual meets and tournaments.
Reiland also had standout moments in individual matches, including a technical fall (20‑4) against Oskaloosa at 144 lbs, demonstrating both strength and skill on the mat. His experience and consistency make him a key anchor for the Muskies’ lineup, and his dedication in practice sets a standard for teammates.
With his combination of toughness, leadership, and proven performance, Seth Reiland is expected to be a cornerstone for Muscatine wrestling as he leads the team through his senior season.
Freshman Jazlyn Enriquez quickly made a name for herself on the Muscatine High School wrestling team in the 2024–25 season. Competing at 120 lbs, she earned a spot at the IGHSAU state tournament, ultimately placing eighth.
Enriquez qualified for state by winning her bracket and advanced into the second day of competition, showing both skill and determination. Over the season, she posted a 27–12 record, demonstrating consistent performance against tough competition.
With her strong freshman campaign, Jazlyn Enriquez is already proving to be a key contributor and a rising star for Muscatine’s girls’ wrestling program.
Sophomore Santi Diaz has emerged as one of Muscatine’s most versatile swimmers. Last season (2024–25), he posted a 24.14-second split in the 50-yard freestyle and contributed to a 3:21.33 200-yard medley relay, helping the Muskies remain competitive in every meet.
Diaz also excelled in individual events, swimming the 200 backstroke (2:15.49), 200 individual medley (2:20.53), and 100 free (51.81) at the YMCA State Swim Meet, showing both speed and endurance across multiple strokes. His versatility allows Muscatine to rely on him in sprint and mid-distance events, as well as relays.
With his skill, work ethic, and leadership in the pool, Santi Diaz is likely to make an even bigger splash for the Muskies this season.
In 16 games this season, junior Gabe Donath proved his strength on the lanes, finishing with an impressive 217.75 average, the second-highest mark on Muscatine’s 2024–25 state championship team. Gabe delivered consistent, high-level performances that helped anchor the lineup and boost the team’s overall scoring.
With only two upperclassmen returning this year, the Muskies will rely heavily on Gabe, not just for his ability to put up big numbers, but for the experience and leadership he brings to the group. His understanding of the sport and willingness to guide younger teammates make him a crucial piece of Muscatine’s push for another championship run.
In 16 games this season, Junior Zina Stoltzfus showcased her growing impact, finishing with 2981 total pins and a strong 222 average. Her 413 high game highlighted her ability to rise in big moments, while her consistency throughout the year helped stabilize the team’s overall scoring.
With a young roster around her, the group will lean heavily on Zina, not only for her ability to produce high-level numbers but also for the confidence and competitive edge she brings each week. As she continues to develop both skill and leadership, Stoltzfus is poised to play a major role in her team’s push for an even stronger season ahead.
