Since the season of love is approaching, stores have been banking off of the pink and specialty vibe once again. But like Christmas and Halloween, candy is a sweet spot for specialty products of the season. So prepare to select your favorite sweet treats to spoil your special someone with Addie and Kelsy’s review on seasonal Valentine candy!

The array of valentines day candy we will be reviewing!

Kelsy – 8.5/10

The conversation hearts are a STAPLE but I definitely feel like they don’t have the same effect that they had when I was in elementary school. I know some people aren’t the biggest fans of the texture, but personally I’m all over it. However, I do not remember the cherry flavor tasting like cold medicine. this will forever be one of my favorites when it comes to Valentine candies, so I give it a 8.5/10.

Addie – 7/10

I feel like these candies kind of get overlooked as there is sort of a mutual hatred for the staple candy. I’ll admit I was not looking forward to trying them, but they really did surprise me! The hard chalky texture can be a little offsetting but they pack a punch of flavor. The banana one had to be a 10/10 for me, but cherry on the other hand was like a 2/10. Though overall these are a 7/10 for me.

Kelsy – 10/10

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE. I don’t know if these are new, but this year is the first time that I have ever seen this Valentine candy. I feel like this candy is similar to chocolate covered cherries which were prominent to me growing up. Also another note THE STRAWBERRIES ON THE PACKAGING. DEFINITELY A 10/10!

Addie – 10/10

These were amazing!!! As a chocolate lover but not a huge strawberry fan I really didn’t know what to expect. But these absolutely hit it out of the park with each flavor perfectly complementing the other. These would be a perfect treat for your special someone! Definitely a 10/10 for me.

Kelsy – 0.2/10

Ew ew ew ew ew. At first the candy was nice, it was soft and I almost thought I was going to enjoy it. However, I did have negative thoughts going in, let me tell you I was right. It tastes like cold medicine. What is up with cherry candy tasting so gross? I would love to love cherry candies. On the other hand I felt the candy getting stuck in my gums. VERY unsettling. I feel like it had a chance at being good but it just wasn’t, so I give this a 0.2/10.

Addie – 0/10

Absolutely not. To be fair I’m not a fan of jelly gummy candies so I may be a little bias on that end. But nothing about  this candy is delicious or appetizing. I like that the gummy texture is soft and easy to chew but that’s about it. The cherry flavor was not the vibe either, it was giving chewy cough medicine. This candy gives absolutely nothing so I have to give it a 0/10.

Kelsy – 4/10

I’m so disappointed:(. I was expecting SO MUCH MORE of the raspberry flavor and it just tasted like fruity pebbles… It wasn’t a bad taste but it just wasn’t what I was expecting, since the bag had such a strong aroma of raspberry. I’m giving this a disappointing 4/10.

Addie – 6/10

Kind of disappointing to be honest. The bag smelled HEAVENLY, but the KitKat itself was just average. It tasted like the leftover milk from a bowl of morning fruity pebbles if I had to compare the taste to anything. It was a good KitKat don’t get me wrong, but as a raspberry fan it didn’t check all the boxes. So I have to give them an underwhelming 6/10.

Kelsy – 0/10

Oh my god. No. I did have a bias going in and I was right. I can’t even be nice, it was SO bad. It reminds me of those cinnamon gummy bears I ate as a kid in summer camp and threw up. I CAN STILL TASTE IT. 0/10.

Addie – 1/10

I feel like I just bit into a Christmas candle, it’s giving holly jolly. Absolutely not. This only gets a one because of the appearance. The tiny red hearts are so cute and can be easily added to a little candy assortment. But don’t let them fool you as they pack a punch of cinnamon. I’m sure cinnamon lovers would love this, but it is just not my thing. I feel bad because they are cute but not cute enough so they get a 1/10.

Kelsy – 8/10

This is exactly what I needed it to be. It DEFINITELY saved me from those menace of a cinnamon candy. I loved that I knew what I was going into and I also LOVED the pink- white chocolate. 10/10.

Side note: I don’t really know what was going on with the shape though…

Addie – 9/10

This brought me back to my childhood and tastes exactly how I remember. Peanut butter and chocolate is a classic and that still holds true. The pink is so cute and the portion is perfect. I really don’t have much to say as this is just a classic candy that compliments every holiday. It’s nothing special, but delicious so I give it a 9/10.

The cute little heart assortment of chocolates!

Kelsy

Orange creme – 10/10

Love love love love. I personally have never been a big fan of anything orange in general. However I think that the dark chocolate definitely saved the day. This was my FAVORITE sov of course it has to get a 10/10!

Strawberry creme – 7/10

I have very mixed feelings about this one. I feel like it would be SO much better with dark chocolate. The milk chocolate does the strawberry no justice. i’m gonna excuse the milk chocolate and give this a 7/10.

Caramel – 0/10

I am NOT the biggest fan of caramel in the first place. The reason being because of the unsettling feeling of it getting stuck in your gums. This caramel just gets stuck in your gums and has a bland flavor. Absolutely a 0/10.

Chocolate caramel – 0/10

Absolutely not. It is very close in comparison to the normal caramel but somehow worse. I had to force myself to keep this down for the sake of Addie. This is the ONE time I despised eating dark chocolate. 0/10

Cocoa truffle – 6/10

This was so good! It is a very smooth chocolate and one of the only ones I enjoyed in this box. It had nothing too overwhelming or special to it. Overall I really enjoyed this! 6/10

Addie–

Orange creme – 10/10

This was surprisingly so good! The orange complemented the chocolate so nicely!

Strawberry creme – 8/10

Sickeningly sweet, the subtle strawberry flavor was really nice but the milk chocolate was a little much. Would be so much better with dark chocolate.

Caramel – 2/10

Sticky sticky sticky. I was expecting sweet chocolaty caramel but this was more of an old person caramel. Wish it would have been a little sweeter.

Chocolate Caramel – 1/10

So bland. I thought the dark chocolate would redeem the gross caramel but it made it worse.

Cocoa Truffle – 7/10

Good chocolate but not a lot of flavor. It definitely plays its role as a double chocolate truffle, but it’s not exceptional.

Box overall – 5/10 (Addie)

This box definitely had its ups and downs, the truffle and orange creme were the showstoppers. But the disgusting caramel brought the box’s rating down significantly. Though I still think this is a good option for your Valentine. But because of the icky caramel it only gets a 5/10.

Box Overall – 2/10 (Kelsy)

Thank God that these assorted chocolates are seasonal, because nobody would catch me wanting these. Initially going into this I was hoping that the nostalgia would be the same but it wasn’t. These chocolates were without a doubt better when I was a kid.I’m Generously giving this box an overall rating 2/10 So with all being said, this season while you’re in-store shopping for your “little valentine” PLEASE skip past these.
