Winter can feel like endless cold, loop, or boredom. So what do you do with layers upon layers of fluffy pillows of white? Crunchy icicles that freeze overnight. Zip up your coat and tie your boots. Let’s go outside and groove.
- Build an igloo

Depending on how serious and committed you are to building an igloo, you can make it big or small. If you want to make a huge human-sized igloo, I would recommend using a laundry basket to fill the snow for the igloo bricks. Use a smaller bucket if you want to make a pet or Barbie-sized igloo.
- Make shaved ice or ice cream
Some people might think this is gross or insane, but you only live once! Scoop snow into a cup and add your favorite syrups. Alternatively, you can opt for the more challenging option and make ice cream. Did you have a ‘make-ice cream’ day out of snow in elementary school? I still don’t know how to make it, but I am going to figure it out now.
Ingredients:
- snow 5-8 cups
- 1 cup of milk

- ½ granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- Toppings of your choice (optional)
Combine everything, but the snow first.
Make sure the snow is in a chilled bowl while mixing ingredients.
Pour the mixture on top of the snow and mix more.
Serve IMMEDIATELY!

Snow gets boring and cold aft
er a while, so my mom figured out this entertaining idea. You need tie-dye bottles or bottles with a small opening on the top.
Food coloring + water makes paint for the snow. This might seem childish or kiddie craft, but I still have a blast doing this! Make games out of it with friends. Play tic tac toe in the snow or Pictionary.
