If you ask anyone who knows Aysel Contreras to describe her in one word, you’ll probably hear something like driven, grounded, or mature beyond her years. But spend just a little time around her, and you’ll quickly realize she’s also unexpectedly funny, full of personality, and not afraid to say something completely out of pocket at the most random moment.
Aysel is the kind of student who doesn’t just go through the motions, she’s intentional. Her faith is at the center of everything she does. She’s serious about her relationship with God, not in a distant or quiet way, but in a way that’s active and loud. She is not ashamed or embarrassed. Whether she’s helping out at church, showing up when she’s needed, or simply talking to someone about Jesus, there’s a genuine excitement in her. It’s not forced, it’s who she is.
“I tell people about Jesus because I want them to have a relationship with Him, and I want to see them in heaven,” she said.
That same passion carries into other parts of her life too. Aysel is already stepping into entrepreneurship as a small business owner, creating her own energy drinks and cookies. What started as an idea quickly became something she genuinely enjoys, blending creativity with discipline. It’s not just about making something good, it’s about building something of her own.
When asked about how her business started Asyel said “It started on a random Saturday, and I needed to make some money so I just started making drinks because it was quick and fun.” One thing about this girl is she won’t let herself be bored.
Academically, Aysel is a strong student who has learned an important lesson early: showing up matters. Like many students, her freshman year wasn’t exactly her favorite. School felt more like something to get through than something to grow in. But as a sophomore, something shifted. She now recognizes the value of consistency, effort, and being present, not just physically, but mentally.
“When I was a freshman I was like, ‘I am not going’ but now as a sophomore, I like school, and I have fun with my friends while getting good grades.” she said.
That growth speaks volumes about her maturity. Aysel doesn’t stay stuck, she reflects, adjusts, and moves forward. It’s a quality that will take her far.
One of the places where her passion really shines is in her car care class. While others might see it as just another elective, Aysel sees opportunity. She genuinely enjoys learning about cars and hopes to build a future around that interest.
“I like that it’s very hands-on, and it’s hard work, and I like to be challenged. Plus it’s not boring,” She joked.
There’s something powerful about a young person who knows what they love and isn’t afraid to pursue it. Aysel carries that quiet confidence, the kind that doesn’t need attention but naturally earns respect.
At her core, Aysel is a balance of strength and humility, discipline and humor, faith and ambition. She’s growing into someone who not only dreams but prepares, not only believes but acts.
A Letter to Aysel
Aysel,
I want you to know how deeply proud I am of you. Not just for what you do, but for who you are becoming. You carry a strength, a wisdom, and a calling that is so evident, even now. There’s something special about the way you take your faith seriously and live it out with boldness and sincerity.
I truly believe that God is going to do incredible things in you and through you. Your life is not ordinary, it’s marked with purpose. The way you love Him, the way you’re growing, the way you’re stepping into responsibility at such a young age, it all matters more than you realize.
You are intelligent, you are beautiful, and you are called. Never forget that.
As you keep moving forward, hold tightly to your relationship with Jesus. Let Him shape your decisions, your character, and your voice. Represent Him well, not out of pressure, but out of love. Learn from those who came before you, including my own mistakes, and walk even stronger because of it.
Keep growing. Keep seeking. 🙂
Love you, and I’m excited to see everything God has ahead for you.
