Take a look at these pictures. Do these photos make you wanna squeeze these animals’ heads off or do something agressive towards it?

That is, in fact, normal, as terrifying and psychopathic as it sounds, most people have experienced that. We aren’t crazy or insane; we don’t want to harm the creature.
The simple answer is that it’s out of our control, and we’re so overwhelmed with positive emotion that we don’t know how to regulate ourselves. So we think thoughts of aggression. Negative emotions keep the positive ones at bay. It lets us control the positive emotions we are experiencing. (npr.org)
The benefit of these hostile thoughts is that they alert us to take care of these creatures. We don’t act upon our thoughts; we back away and take a break. This is the human in us that comes out while still feeling happy emotions. (uc.edu)
