Nearly 40 years later, the infamous “Beetlejuice”, has finally released its long-awaited sequel. Along with this, fans have had some mixed feelings surrounding the original cast actors, compared to the current ones. This new movie remaking the classic has gotten many mixed reviews.
Because of controversies that Jenna Ortega, a famous actor has been in, many have begun disliking the film because of her role in it. But for many, the addition of Ortega made the movie better. Ortega’s role as Astrid Deetz was a complement to Lydia Deetz, showing what she would be like as a parent along with building a new interesting character for the movie.
Overall the ratings for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice were incredibly good and people seemed to enjoy this remake of a classic.
Having this remake is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity as these classic actors won’t be around forever making more than two when the story has officially ended would be a massive buzz kill for many. This movie, along with the original, is an all-around classic and will be remembered forever by many.
When Winona was being interviewed after the filming of the movie she stated that working on this remake was a wonderful experience for her and that working alongside Ortega was a very amazing experience.
Alongside this, Ryder shared some insight of what it was like working with Ortega, “I don’t think I’ve ever bonded with someone like I did with Jenna. It was insane. And it did feel a lot like I was talking to a younger version of myself,”
Even behind the scenes, Winona and Ortega have formed a wonderful relationship. In comparison to past relationships that Ryder has had with former cast friends, it is clear how genuine her friendship is with Ortega.
Micheal Keaton also agrees that working with Jenna was a very good experience, marking on how special she was and that he enjoyed working with her in this movie. Saying, “She showed up and just immediately knew what the tone was and just slipped in like she does every day. She’s really special.” referring to Ortega.
Ortega also spoke on how it was working with both Winona and Keaton, her words for both were kind, showcasing how she enjoyed working with both actors.
During an interview with “The Today Show” she said, “Winona and I — I swear we just started talking one day on set and then never stopped, you could find us in the same position four hours later never having moved. She’s the best.” Referring to Winona Ryder, who played Lydia Deetz.
Along with that, In an interview Ortega spoke on working with Keaton, “It was actually quite intimidating, because I’ve been saying that it was the first time that I felt like I really didn’t recognize somebody.”
With this movie hitting theaters earlier this month, it was truly special for many to see the chemistry between actors both on and, for those who watch interviews, off stage.
This movie and the actor’s chemistry was something absolutely wonderful and a definite amazing thing to witness.
If you want to watch the movie, it is still showing in theaters, especially Palms 10, for another good while, leading into October. Many can surely promise you that you will have fun.
